A fast fish taco with sesame and lime acting as bridge flavors between Japanese and Mexican profiles.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb cod or tilapia fillets
- 1 tbsp neutral oil
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp lime zest
- 8 corn tortillas
- 2 cups shredded cabbage
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 1 tbsp lime juice
- 2 tbsp mayo
- 1 tsp chili powder
Preparation
- Season fish with soy sauce, lime zest, salt, and pepper.
- Sear fish in oil until flaky, about 3 minutes per side.
- Toss cabbage with sesame oil and lime juice.
- Mix mayo with chili powder.
- Warm tortillas.
Assembly
- Flake fish into tortillas.
- Add slaw and chile mayo.
Serving Suggestions
- Serve with grilled corn.
- Add avocado slices.
